I recently found that you can mount a VHD (Virtual Hard-Disk) on the computer, tweak the boot table and end-up booting your VM as a regular OS (source).
My problem is that Virtual PC was not meant to run Unix/Linux so it probably doesn't fully support the OS's I'm trying to use (Sage Virtual Appliance, Crunchbang, Ubuntu, Windows 7 and ultimately a Hackintosh).
I have everything running as simple VMs on VMware Workstation 9. Is there any way to mount VMDK drives the same way people do with VHD, so I could boot out of them?
There's also a VMware tool for mounting VMDK files. Can I use these mounted devices at boot?
