Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm setting up an SSH tunnel with a Linode server as an intermediate host. I was wondering if there is a way to set up a user on the intermediate server (running Ubuntu) so that that the user can essentially do nothing but port forwarding for purposes of serving as the intermediary (i.e., the user wouldn't have access to any other users' files, wouldn't be able to place files on the server, would basically be able to do as little as possible except for running ssh and port forwarding, etc.).
