I accidently clicked on a banner ad on and hurried and closed it but I worried it might have a virus and when I went to do a virus scan I noticed my Norton Antivirus was no longer in my System Tray-does this mean it had been disabled and/or that I could have had a virus hit me without the active protection on my internet? Thanks for any input.

There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

Before doing what @smnoff said, consider restarting your computer and seeing if the tray icon comes back. – Nik Bougalis Jun 23 '13 at 0:25
