Can anyone help me with my resolution settings? I can't figure out why the last command fails.

What are you trying to do? What is your hardware? Why are you using sudo? –  terdon Jul 3 '13 at 15:34

1. I am trying to use the 1360x768 res setting for my box connected to my TV so I can read the screen from the couch. Need mode added to HDMI1 (last command that fails). 2. Hardware is an Intel NUC with the 4000 GPU, I believe. 64-bit. Connected to my Sony LCD TV. 3. Why not? I get the same result either way. –  moto_beats Jul 3 '13 at 18:57

So this is the update that is breaking my Display resolution options

Start-Date: 2013-07-04 09:10:11
Commandline: aptdaemon role='role-commit-packages' sender=':1.48'
Install: linux-image-3.5.0-34-generic:amd64 (3.5.0-34.55~precise1)
End-Date: 2013-07-04 09:10:43

I get the following error after reboot and my preferred resolution option (and a bunch of others) in Display are gone. I rolled back the update.

Could not apply the stored configuration for monitors
