I have 2 worksheets:

  • Worksheet 1 with Column H need to find a match on
  • Worksheet 2 with Column F

If a match is found, I need to copy the contents of worksheet 2 column g to worksheet 1 column E.

Sheet 1

user1
user2
user3

Sheet 2 ( 2 different columns)

red     user2
white   user1
blue    user3

So compare user 1 to users in 2nd table when matching user 1, copy "white" to a column in the same row as user 1 on the first table.

Do you know how to use vlookup? This is what you would use here. –  Jerry Jul 9 '13 at 19:27
    
@Jerry, vlookup would work if the columns were swapped (what you are searching in 1st column, result in 2nd column) but a mix of index( & match( would be needed if columns are not in that order –  Sean Cheshire Jul 15 '13 at 12:32
