I always found it useful to share my Wi-Fi internet connection from my laptop without disclosing the AP passphrase. I used to start a hostednetwork (after configuring it) with the following command:

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

I've unchecked the Share checkbox from the Wi-Fi adapter and checked it in the newly created USB modem connection, started the hostednetwork, double checked to see that it's actually the network the USB modem internet connection is shared with.

I can't access anything from the hostednetwork, but my PC is connected!

Is that a hardware compatibility issue or am I missing something?

Does the adapter have an appropriate NDIS Port –  Raystafarian Jul 30 '13 at 13:51
