Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have CRTMP and NGINX installed on one machine. Nginx serves a page with a SWF player and a link to the RTMP stream (on the same server).

However, I would like to only open one port on my machine, so I was wondering if it's possible to use Nginx as a rtmpt-proxy.

So instead of putting this in my webpage "rtmp:///myStream", I want to put "rtmpt:///streams/MyStream".

Nginx should then reverse-proxy the connection "rtmpt:///streams/MyStream" to "rtmp://localhost/myStream".

I hope my question makes a bit sense...
