I've got Lenovo Y500 with 2 drives (sda - SSD 60GB, sdb - HDD 1TB) and when I try to install Windows 7 on the second drive it throws error 0x80300024. I can't disconnect the SSD drive, because I'd have to open the laptop's case.

How to install Windows 7 on HDD?

Information on the partitions on the sdb device is required to answer this. The error is connected to partition of the disk. – Ramhound Jul 23 '13 at 14:16
I've fixed it by moving the sda down the boot priority list – user240099 Jul 23 '13 at 14:55
