One person at the Customer service of SAS (the statistical computing software) told me they don't sell Linux version of SAS to individuals, although they have versions for RedHat.

But after googling "SAS Ubuntu", I found a lot of people are using SAS with recent versions such as 9.3 under Ubuntu on their personal computers.

  1. I was wondering how they may have acquired the SAS for Ubuntu?
  2. If I have to install WIndows 32-bit version of SAS 9.3 on my 32-bit Ubuntu 12.04, will installing it under Wine work, or do I have to install Windows in the virtual box under Ubuntu?
