I automounted a partition in Ubuntu. When I restarted it says cannot mount the partition, so I selected manually recover in root. I reached the root prompt and mounted the partition but failed so I started lightdm and it opened but it took to long so I force shut down the PC. When I boot again and logged in, I noticed that the wifi, bluetooth, power(battery) icons and my user account on the top bar are missing in Ubuntu 12.04. When I restart, it just automatically logs out. What is the problem?

Try to obtain error messages, especially from ~/.xsession-errors and /var/log/syslog. –  scai Jul 29 '13 at 8:13
