I recently tried installing a new Realtek driver on my Gateway NV55S12 and ended up losing the ability of my laptop differentiating between when there are headphones plugged into the jack and when they are not. I have tried reinstalling the old drivers through the Gateway website and through the Gateway recovery tool to no avail.

I have also lost a handy feature that created a popup showing the volume level which I believe also increased and decreased the volume when the volume buttons are pressed at larger increments.

I am currently using the Realtek 6.0.1.6343 driver. I've tried using the up to date Realtek driver also, but it did not fix it. I am also using Windows 7 64-bit
