I just installed Ubuntu 13.04 last night and am having a hard time getting my touchpad to work as expected. Basically, as I move the mouse via the touchpad, it feels really choppy for whatever reason. Also, adjusting the speed in my mouse settings, doesn't have any effect.

My touchpad is an AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint

I'm new to linux, so I'm not really even sure where to begin debugging such an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
