I'm running an Ubuntu 12.04 VM on VirtualBox with a Mac host. I had some very large files(140GB+) in the shared folder and I needed to free up some disk space, so I moved the files to the VM trash can. The files were removed from the share folder but never appeared in the trash cans of either the Mac or VM, however, the disk space was still the same. When I look at the properties of the shared folder on the VM, it says it takes up 60GB, but when I look at the properties of the Mac folder it says it takes up 200GB. They both have same files/# of files, but two different sizes. I searched the file systems of both computers and nothing showed up. Does anyone know how to recover these files and remove them?
