I don't want to keep creating new profiles for the new launcher. I just want to replace the .jar. But it always re downloads the original files. Why? Is there a way to avoid this?

So, basically. I want to do the same process we used to do with the old launcher.

Maybe backup the old ones, then after it replaces the original files, copy the new JAR into the backup. Then delete the new ones, then move the backup to the original location. – Cole Johnson Aug 19 '13 at 0:42
@Cole"Cole9"Johnson won't work. It updates every time. – Matthew H Aug 19 '13 at 0:43
