I am using red Hat enterprise Linux 6.3 for Practice . As I Am only using command line terminals. In Command line terminal Font size is very small . Pls tell me how to increase the font size permanently .As I have already tried 'vga=xxx' method.

AFAIK you can't arbitrarily change the font size, however you change it to another font.

List 22pt console fonts

ls /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/*22.*

Set font to iso01-12x22.psfu.gz

setfont /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/iso01-12x22.psfu.gz

Permanetly set the font

echo "FONT=iso01-12x22" > /etc/vconsole.conf

(Note: if you want it to show up earlier in boot you need to rebuilt your initrd/initramfs)

Simply you can add vga=decimal-num to /boot/grub/grub.conf(if you have Grub).

NOTE: Make sure that vga value is decimal.
