I have a VirtualBox running on a Windows7 host (ip as 107.109.x.x) with an Ubuntu guest. I have started a server in Ubuntu (Guest, ip is 10.0.2.15).

I followed below steps mentioned at(VirtualBox guest OS accessing local server on host OS, answered by Melvyn):

MY QUERY:

When i am trying to ping or connect to Guest server from other machine (windows7) in same network (107.109.x.x),i am not getting any request...however when i do the same from my Host system (107.109.x.x), i can see the request coming to server.

What could be the issue ?

I'd rather use Bridge setting instead of NAT, way less problems and more intuitive, it's like having a separate machine on the same LAN. –  enry Aug 22 '13 at 15:03
