I am trying to unpackage firmware. The file command gives me this.

gzip compressed data, ASCII, has CRC, extra field

gzip -d gzip.gz gives this.

gzip: gzip.gz has flags 0xcf -- not supported

Any suggestions?

I have 1.6 yours could be to old. Yours is 1 year old already. ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gzip Although the file could also be damaged. – cybernard Aug 23 '13 at 3:16
