hi I when i am trying to run virtual machine on VMW 6.5 it shows me following error.

"Not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings. To fix this problem, adjust the additional memory settings to allow more virtual machine memory to be swapped. If you were able to power on this virtual machine on this host computer in the past, try rebooting the host computer. Rebooting may allow you to use slightly more host memory to run virtual machines."

i have also tried options that are suggested from above error, but still its not working.

Can you help me to solve this problem?

Thanks

Does your PC even have enough RAM to run the VM and your host OS at the same time??? – jitter Oct 31 at 11:13

Your host might be low on memory, maybe due to other running programms. Either close some windows, or: Start VMware Workstation, choose the VM you try to start, klick on "Edit virtual machine settings" and reduce the value for "Memory" to the "Recommend memory"-value.

In my machine Desk Drive was causing a similar problem even though I have 6GB installed and only 2GB set aside for the virtual machine.

To determine memory usage of running processes, use the System Information tool (Msinfo32.exe). To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type msinfo32 in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Expand Software Environment, and then click Running Tasks.
  3. View the values in the Min Working Set and the Max Working Set columns for each process to determine the process that uses a lot of physical memory.
