I have a 2013 Retina MacBook Pro hooked up to a Dell U2713HM with a mini display port to display port cable, but all of the sudden it won't drive the monitor at its native 2560x1440, but only at 1080p mode. The resolution list at this point will only show 1080p and 720p.

If I reboot in to rescue mode all is ok, then when I reboot again to my installed copy of OS X, it's still at 1080p, but 2560x1440 is now an option, but if I click on it nothing happens (not even the blue flash you normally get changing resolutions or displays).

I'm not running any res or video card switching apps like gfxcardstatus, and I'm not sure what else to look at.

What do you mean when you say "won't drive the monitor at its native 2560x1440 mode?" Does the monitor display an image at a lower resolution? Does it display anything? What do you see in display preferences? –  ForeverWintr Aug 28 '13 at 5:21
