I have two Windows 8 computers in my homegroup.

  1. Desktop connected to the router with a cable;
  2. Laptop connected via WiFi.

I created a homegroup on computer 1 and later joined it on computer 2.

After this i do:

  • start playing a video from computer 1, but after a while, i lose internet connection on computer 1, and the video stops on computer 2, but i still have internet connection on computer 2.

  • If i disable and enable the network adapter on computer 1, i regain internet connection.

  • I have Windows Defender and Windows Firewall on default settings on both computers, since both computers were installed recently.

I don't know what i might be doing wrong here.

Sounds like it could be a problem with your router/DHCP server trying to hand both devices the same IP. –  davidgo Aug 30 '13 at 6:45

@davidgo. I checked my router settings. I have different ips and i have a checkbox that says "Use always the same ip" in each of the devices. I don't know if this helps in any way. –  Filipe Silva Aug 30 '13 at 14:31
