Just wishful thinking, but is there anyway to access my Windows XP work from home desktop computer with my Vista laptop so I can remote control the desktop from my laptop, and here's the kicker, without my work knowing that I'm doing that? I use logmein free software to access my other home computers from my laptop and can remote control them, but it requires logmein to be installed on the laptop and desktop computers and runs an active icon at the bottom of the screen at all times.

I'm with emgee. Yes, there are ways to do it (notably Remote Desktop) but it's a bad idea. – CarlF Nov 1 at 3:45
Ha, thanks for the input. Guess I was needing a reality check on this one. – user16256 Nov 1 at 4:18

This question would only be relevant to a small geographic area, a specific moment in time, or an extraordinarily narrow situation that is not generally applicable to the worldwide audience of the internet.

If the sysadmin at your work is competent there is no way you'll be able to accomplish this without the admin knowing.

Have you tried asking them if there is a supported way for you to work at home?

Well, the thing is, the desktop that I'm wanting to remote control is at my home, but it's my work computer. I was wanting to be able to use my laptop as well, so that I'm not tied to the desk. Probably should just leave well enough alone. – user16256 Nov 1 at 4:11
