Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I wanted to set up my partitions and hard drives on my system so that all of my files in my document/music/pictures/downloads/etc is on a storage drive to leave room open my OS drive and make it easy for me to reinstall my OS whenever I want. I wanted to know if I can take my folders in user and instead turn them into junctions leading to a folder on my storage drive so that whenever I or a program accesses C:\Users\\Documents(or w/e) it is a corresponding folder on my back up drive. If I'm not mistakened 7 already does this for compatibility with XP era programs, I just want to know if I can add another layer to this as well.
