First of all, sorry about my English; I need to improve that. I am a new user on linux Mint, and a really new user of Linux enviroments (I have used only Ubuntu 11 and 12 before). I recently bought a new computer and two new LED monitors: Samsung 19". I connected the first monitor via the VGA connector and the second one via a graphics card-DVI-to-VGA-to-monitor adapter.

I've spent the last week searching for an answer and can not solve the problem. So I will start with some basic questions:

Is possible to configure two (independent image) monitors on my computer?

I used the lshw command to lookup my hardware and this is the output:

If someone could provide some insight into the configuration option for this within the Linux Mint environment it would be appreciated

Don't worry to much about English as people from the community will review new posts and correct mistakes as required. Can you provide more information about the environment your using eg. What version on Linux Mint? Also can you advise what troubleshooting you have tried? –  50-3 Sep 5 '13 at 0:17

i am using linux mint 14. I try to install catalyst software center to configure monitors, but second monitor was never detected. –  user251370 Sep 6 '13 at 16:52

Also try install Arandr, and second monitor was´n detected. I read some about DVI to VGA conectors might have some problems and need to convert the signal from digital to analogic. I have a DVI (25 pins) out from video card and a 15 VGA connector on monitor. If more info is needed i will try give my best, this is impossible to solve at this point for my self. Thanks for your help. –  user251370 Sep 6 '13 at 16:57
