Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I recently started using the pass password manager and I'm loving it, got me my Git repo for it and all.

The problem is that I thought of something, what happens when I want to for example re-install my OS, perhaps I need the passwords somewhere else, maybe I just buy a new computer whatever the reason, how would I export these?

From what I can figure thanks to the GPG key ID or whatever it's called (sorry not very well versed in GPG) everything is very secure along with my master password, but it's not available to other systems because it's unique.

So is there perhaps a better way to store my passwords with something similar to pass, perhaps there's an export feature somewhere that I'm not aware of that exports it to a simple text file etc.

What's the best way to solve this simple issue? BTW I'm on a Mac and I installed pass with Homebrew.
