Is there a way to set a timer that will automatically switch my laptop off after a given amount of time?

I like listening to music before bed and at the moment I need to get up to turn the laptop off.

the shutdown.exe command, built into Windows, will do the trick. Here is an article explaining how to use it.

Or type the following for an interactive GUI:

shutdown /i

I know how to do that in Windows 7 but I guess that is almost the same process like in Windows 8. Basically all what you need to do is to enter in Control Panel / System and Security / Administrative Tools and then click on Task Scheduler where you can menage all the things not only for shutdown but also and for other actions.
