I'm attempting to restart my Apache instance on OS X (Mountain Lion). The command: sudo apachectl restart does nothing.

Neither does sudo apachectl stop as well - I can run the stop, then still access the vhosts that I have on the system without a problem. Is there something else I should be looking for to kill apache, other than going in with a kill signal?
