Often I write bash scripts that can get quite complicated, even when they do not consist of a great many lines. I comment extensively, still it is sometimes difficult to understand what output files are later used for what input etc.

To clarify the flow of data, I sometimes draw flowcharts. However it seems to me that such flowcharts could be generated automatically, or at least semi-automatically. Is there any tool that does this?
