Very often I use mysql and sqlite in an ad hoc manner: quickly create a few tables, retrieve the information I need, then delete the tables beause I will never use them again.

I wonder if it is possible to to CREATE a table without specifying the types of each field, instead letting SQL decide what the proper type is from the file that is loaded?

I.e. given a text file with many fields, can SQL figure out by itself what a good type for each field would be?

That would greatly speed up using SQL especially for ad hoc type queries.
