I contracted 12 MB/s connection, but I'm only getting about 3 MB/s on one of my computers. My other computer is running smoothly on 13 MB/s. My ISP says that I have open connections that are dragging down the speed of my internet connection. They checked Netstat and determined that I had too many established connections.

Now, how do I get rid of these open connections? Any answer will be greatly appreciated. I am using the OSX operating system.

Can't you ask your ISP for further assistance? It's very hard to determine exactly what's to be done here – matan129 Sep 21 '13 at 19:11

Would help if we knew what esablished connections these are. I'm not convinced that this is really the cause of the issue though… – slhck Sep 21 '13 at 19:42
