On start up, or restart my computer "goes off" into a 'long running script' After a couple of hours it 'finishes' and I can use the computer normally. I have run C cleaner and malwarebytes with no success, microsoft 'FIX IT' changed nothing, Which helpline suggested wiping the disc clean and start from fresh. I have Vista Home Premium, a PC Specialist computer with genuine intel 2160 1.8 Ghz and 1 gb memory

I have deduced 'long running scripts' after an occasional message "program not responding due to long running script" Any suggestions?

Have you tried to do a selective startup? – Ramhound Sep 27 '13 at 12:47
you should upgrade the RAM. 1GB is not enough for todays software. – magicandre1981 Sep 27 '13 at 18:59
