I have had this question in mind. Suppose that one, instead of installing Kali Linux, installs another (pure) Debian variant and then adds all the tools provided in Kali, by hand (or through PPA's,don't stuck on how they will be automatically updated). What would be the substansial differences between the two systems, providing that both will be used some time for pentesting?

All I want to get from this question is if there are any extra features Kali provides besides a ready set of tools, and what these are.
