I have a Sony Vaio VPCZ12 with a Synaptics touchpad running Windows 8.

I have a problem, after waking the computer from sleep, the touch pad starts working intermittently (sometimes you can't move the cursor or click, sometimes only allowing vertical movement. It might do this for 20 seconds, then work for 20 seconds, then stop again) - happens after waking from sleep - - has no effect on keyboard input - can be fixed by doing a restart - only started happening a couple of weeks ago (after a year of successful service) - isn't fixed by removing and re-installing synaptics drivers - isn't fixed by disabling 'USB selective suspend'
