I am unable to connect to my new talk talk internet on my desktop. When I tried to connect using my mobile phone, it connect straight away and works great. However when i try to connect my desktop either through a NETGEAR network adapter or using an ethernet cable then i do not get a connection. The status is constantly 'Identifying..' with limited access and no internet connection. I've added a picture below of the basic network information - you can see my computer has not even established a connection with the router, not just the internet.

I have tried so many things to try to get this working, including;

  • Checking for any Bonjour services
  • ipconfig /renew and /release
  • ipconfig /flushdns
  • netsh winsock reset
  • netsh int ip reset
  • restarting the computer and router
  • reinstalling network adapters
  • booting into safe mode with networking

Of course none of these worked and I do not know what else to try.

I used to connect to BT internet on this computer but that was disconnected about 3 months ago. Since then this computer has not been updated and no programs have been installed or uninstalled. Then yesterday i try to connect to the new router and this happens.

Below is a picture of my ipconfig settings:

If you need to know anything else just ask.
