Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

So I decided to install Slackware to start learning more on Linux.

One thing that I have noticed, is that when I log in as root, the flash player works for sites like Youtube, it just pops up a notice that a plug in needs to be installed.

As for any other user, it doesn't work.

Why is that? Does flash not install system wide? I'm new to how everything works in Linux, so I don't completely understand how the file system works and everything.
