I'm currently I'm using my laptop without battery because my battery was dead. I didn't buy a new battery because I don't have a cash for now.

Since then sometimes I accidentally unplug or sometimes a power black out at my place cause my laptop to not properly shut down. This has happened many times but my laptop stills working.

Last night I was using it for almost 12 hours. Unfortunately my little brother accidentally unplugged it. Now when I try to turn it on, it won't turn on.

I've double checked everything, power source, charger, and cable. When I connect the charger to laptop the little light along with the chargers hole is turned on but when I press the power button it wont turn on my laptop, I can't even here the fan spinning. Also the 3 lights in front of my laptop with an icon of power button, lightning and 3 disc are not blinking.

I tried to "unplug the battery" by unplugging charger and pressing power button for 10 secs (I actually tried almost up to 10mins), then plug in and turn it on but still no use.

Is my laptop dead? Is it my motherboard that's dead?

Next thing to do is to open up the battery compartment (with the charger removed), unplug the battery for 5-10 minutes, plug it back in, and try again. –  Daniel R Hicks Oct 19 '13 at 11:25
