Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

In SQL Developer, whenever (it seems) multiple rows of data are deleted, my entire PC practically becomes frozen. Windows appear to be clickable, but doing so just opens and instantly minimizes them, and SQL Developer again remains on top. Specifically, these deletes are done through the GUI, rather than actually doing delete from tableName;. I haven't noticed this happen when I run the script, other than the actual lag of the query which is completely fine.

I don't believe this is really my computer lacking performance to do this task (these ~2 min freezes can occur by something as simple as deleting 5 rows of data). I'll have a word with the DBA to see if he has any ideas, perhaps he has monitoring that could be causing this -- i'm not too expert in this area.

If you have any suggestions to check out, that'd be great. Cheers
