I have Sony VAIO and I have problem with brightness when i try to adjust it through fn+f5 or f6 key. When the brightness is set to 100% and when i want to increase it with Fn+f6 keys, brightness decrease dramatically (whereas he should have stayed at 100%). After press keys, brightness is set to 10% and i cannot increase through Fn keys. I can only increase it manually in control panel with cursor.

Moreover, when i set brightness manually to min (0-5%), the screen flickers hugely. Moreover, when i set brightness manually to max (100%), the screen is not as bright as new screen

All drivers are updated !

I have already ask question to Sony support but they do not resolve my problem.

I want to change brightness through cmd line or brute force.

Did you think it's problem due to "time/age" (I have bought my laptop 3 years ago) So, someone can help me please ?

OS : Windows 8.1

Thanks for answer but its laptop screen not monitor. i can change brightness/contrast/gamme in catalyst control center but its different. I'm pretty sure that my screen is dim and setting in CCC are set to default. – kenf80 Nov 14 '13 at 10:41
I have downloaded ScreenBright software but there are not brightness/contrast/color luminance setting. There are just RGB and cold/warm setting – kenf80 Nov 14 '13 at 10:51
