When I playback movies on iTunes sometimes the video will pause but the audio will continue. Then the video speeds up to catch up with the audio. This happens on and off through movies. How do I get this to stop?

I have a Dell Latitude 6500 laptop running Windows 7

Does it happen for all videos or just some select fews? Does this happen in other video players (Windows Media Player, VLC)? If so, the problem might be graphical in origin and as such updating the video drivers might help. – Doktoro Reichard Nov 16 '13 at 22:51
It sounds like your computer isn't fast enough to play high-res video in iTunes. I doubt updating drivers will help much. You'll need to use lower resolution content if available or move up to a faster computer. I'm not sure if iTunes uses hardware acceleration for video decode. If it doesn't, then your problem could be alleviated by using Windows Media Player – Bala Sivakumar Nov 19 '13 at 17:43
