Google maps is off course a good online map, stores bookmarks of locations and I think also the routes between locations.

However I don't know if the webpage also supports GPS stuff

Google Earth also works on Linux (making it available offline), but I couldn't find a quick confirmation on whether it supports GPS tracking/logging.

Perhaps it's worth checking this list

It depends on your region. Google maps doesn't know all areas. – Mercer Traieste Jul 17 at 9:00
I'm pretty sure the "pro" version of Google Earth supports importing GPS data, but I'm not sure if the free version does. – Brian Ortiz Oct 7 at 0:33
