How do I save and load memory state of a specific application in Windows? Specifically, I'm interested in games that don't support game saves.

So far I only found out one way to do this, and it's via virtual machine snapshots. But that's overkill and takes up a lot of disk space. Is there some way to do this per-app on a live OS (not inside a virtual machine)?
