NextPlease is a FF extension which enables you to use a keyboard shortcut for navigating the 'next' and 'previous' links. You can configure it per webpage where it can learn which next link is for going to the next link.

However this extension hasn't been updated since 2007 and it's not compatible with FF 3.5.

Are there other similar extensions?

Check the comments, there are other users of the extension in the same boat as you :)

http://cisengineer.com/firefox/ contains an updated version for firefox 3.5

I use an add-on Rewind/Fastforward Buttons. This is only half what you need: just adds buttons to the Navigation toolbar, no keyboard shortcuts AFAIK.

But hey, it's open-source :)

Pretty much precisely not what he asked for ;p – lagerdalek Aug 4 '09 at 20:42

Really handy extetensions I've used in the past to access page links:

  • No Mouse and
  • Mouseless Browsing - addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/879

Mouseless Browsing being the first all-keyboard access extension I saw in FF.

Wouldn't AutoPager also work for this?

Looking at the description it says it autoloads next page. I need to control the paging myself. Maybe I don't want to reach the end of the page to page. What if I am reading the bottom and suddenlt it pages on me! What if I want to go back? I want to use the keyboard and page back or forward on demand. NextPlease is the only plugin that does what I want. – Tony_Henrich Aug 6 '09 at 16:19

AutoPager does not move you from the bottom of the page - it just adds the next page below it. You end up with a very long web page, with all the content displayed (like a pdf or similar). May or may not be what you want, I personally find it incredibly convenient. – Joel in Gö Jan 11 '10 at 12:27
