I have two modems (both are connected to a switch or hub) with these addresses:

Modem01: 192.168.1.1
Modem02: 192.168.1.2

And I have two PCs: ServerPC and WorkPC; both with Windows 7 32-bit. I did static IPv4 IP addresses in both PCs like this:

ServerPC:
IP Adress : 192.168.1.50
Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gate: 192.168.1.1
Favorite DNS: 192.168.1.1

WorkPC:
IP Adress : 192.168.1.50
Mask : 255.255.255.0
Default Gate: 192.168.1.1
Favorite DNS: 192.168.1.1

(Means both PCs are getting Internet from Modem01.)

I shared a folder on ServerPC. I can access it from WorkPC if ServerPC Default Gate IP and Favorite DNS IPs are 192.168.1.1; but if it's 192.168.1.2 then I can't access it!! Why? How do I solve this problem?

Do ServerPC and WorkPC really have the same IP address, or is that a typo? –  heavyd Nov 27 '13 at 0:06
