I have a stock status report ran every morning that I draw into my workbook through a data connection. I then reference that sheet with the data table in another spreadsheet that is formatted for analysis. As new items are added and old ones obsoleted, the number of rows will change.

My issue is that I need to place notes next to each item code that need to carry over from day to day. Each time I update the data connection, if any rows are added or deleted my notes column is off. Is there a way I can link a cell to another so my notes would dynamically match the item code each time it is updated?

Thank you in advance and please let me know if I may provide any additional information.
