I am using windows 7/64 Professional. A file with no name or right click properties has appeared on my desktop. I can't delete it but I can move it around. Can't delete it in safe mode either. When I right click I get:Open, Search Everything, Shared Folder Synchronization, create shortcut, Open Command Prompt.

I opened Command Prompt and ended Explorer, hoping I could find and delete the file. However, when I closed down Explorer the file went away also.

I opened regedit and went to: HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer

Under 'Namespace' there a several long numbers associated with files, but I'm not sure which one is associated with the no name file.

Any ideas how to get rid of the file or find out what it is associated with?

Those long numbers are GUIDs. You can post the GUIDs so that we can determine which are normal and which is/are not in order to find out which one is responsible for the icon. –  Synetech Dec 5 '13 at 6:14
