I have Windows 8.1. Any time I try to download any file on Chrome, Firefox or IE, the file starts, downloads about 3MB, then finishes even if the file is larger than that. The browser says the file is finished even though it isn't.

Does anyone know what the problem is because it's really annoying?

Try disabling screen saver, power saver, auto-lock, screen-dimming, and everything else – MultiplyByZer0 Dec 7 '13 at 23:46
Make sure there is enough room on the disk to store the file. – VL-80 Dec 7 '13 at 23:46

Sometimes, power management will mess around with network connections. So disable sleep, the screen saver, auto-lock, and screen dimming. And also make sure that you have enough space on your hard drive and check that you have a strong, stable internet connection. Do Windows Update and update all of your browsers and network drivers. Restart your computer.
