I have large amount of data files which I continuously need to run search queries on. Previously the best solution to searching a large personal database was google desktop search. But now, the options are kind of limited especially if you don't have much experience/don't want in coding.

Currently I use recoll to index my files. Can you give me suggestions on what personal search engines exist and which ones would be good to use ?

This question is much to subjective, any time you have "best' in your question, it's probably not a good fit for the Stack Exchange network. –  nerdwaller Dec 12 '13 at 3:47
