I have an old Windows game originally released in 2003. When playing the game on my 22" widescreen monitor the game is windowboxed. I'm fairly certain this is due to the aspect ratio of my monitor (16:9) and the fact that in 2003 when the game was released the standard aspect ratio of computer monitors was 4:3. In order to make the game truly full screen without the windowboxing do I need to set the scaling option of my display adapter to "Maintain aspect ratio", or "Full screen"?

There is also an option to "override the scaling mode set by games and programs".

The display adaper is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520.
