I've used "Windows" keyboards (separate and mainstream laptops), and am now using a MacBook air.

Mac's keyboard is obviously different - I mean physically. The keys don't 'sink' as far in when pressed, and the hand positioning is slightly different.

I am interested in empirical differences. Are there any studies which study the ergonomic or other differences in effectiveness when using Mac/Microsoft keyboards?

It's not exclusively mac/windows - it's just chicklet/scissor vs. traditional rubber domes. You may find better research using those as your terms since it is not exclusively "mac" vs "windows". –  nerdwaller Jan 12 at 15:59
