I am using a Samsung Laptop running Windows 7. I have an Oracle VM VirtualBox installed which is running Windows 8. In the VirtualBox I need to do Camtasia videos at a resolution of 1280x720. The client is firm on this resolution. I am not able to change the screen resolution in Windows 8 to anything other than 1295x780 or 1024x768. On the resolution screen there is also an option for Display but the only choice I have there is Generic Non-Pnp Monitor.

Is there a way to change the screen resolution in only the VirtualBox to 1280x720 and not on the Windows 7 host computer?

Have you installed the VirtualBox Guest Additions? You can do this in the VM by selecting 'Devices' then 'Install Guest Additions' (or Host + D where your 'host' key is the key used to get out of the VM, usually right CTRL key on the keyboard) – txtechhelp Jan 24 '14 at 21:43
