When attempting to play the game Stanley Parable on my Toshiba Satellite L300-1FQ laptop, the game drives the graphics driver mad. After starting the game, the intro video plays out of sync with the sound, and after a time the screen goes flashing and the sound looping. The game never begins. Unless I stop stanley.exe from Task Manager, I repeatedly get the error message

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

The message (unlike the screenshot above) also says that the driver that crashed is a Windows XP driver, which is curious because I run Windows 7. I just updated the drivers for the built-in Intel graphics card by using the utility at http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu and it didn't help.
