When attempting to play the game Stanley Parable on my Toshiba Satellite L300-1FQ laptop, the game drives the graphics driver mad. After starting the game, the intro video plays out of sync with the sound, and after a time the screen goes flashing and the sound looping. The game never begins. Unless I stop
stanley.exe from Task Manager, I repeatedly get the error message
Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
The message (unlike the screenshot above) also says that the driver that crashed is a Windows XP driver, which is curious because I run Windows 7. I just updated the drivers for the built-in Intel graphics card by using the utility at http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu and it didn't help.
